Q CMM vs 3D scan?
A
CMM (tactile): accuracy ± 1-3 μm, suits regular geometry (bores, planes, cylinders). 3D scan (optical/laser): non-contact, fast freeform capture (blades, body panels), accuracy ± 10-50 μm.
Q Hardness test selection?
A
Rockwell HRC: heat-treated metal (hardened parts 60-65). Vickers HV: thin and small parts, convertible to other scales. Brinell HB: large castings/forgings. Shore: rubber. Zwick, Wilson and Struers lead European hardness testers.
Q NDT compliance?
A
ASNT SNT-TC-1A and EN ISO 9712 are personnel qualifications (Level I/II/III). Ultrasonic, X-ray, MT, PT each have specific qualifications. Aerospace, pressure vessels and bridge welds require NDT.
