First digit = ports, second = positions. 2/2: 2 ports, 2 positions (on/off). 5/2: 5 ports, 2 positions (double-acting cylinder). Pneumatic → 5/2; water/gas on-off → 2/2.
Q Direct-acting vs pilot?
A
Direct: low flow, low ΔP, fast (2-10 ms), bidirectional. Pilot: high flow, requires minimum ΔP (0.05-0.5 bar), slower (30-100 ms), unidirectional.
Q Fluid valve materials?
A
Bürkert 316L, Hastelloy, PTFE-lined. Strong acid/alkali and seawater → PTFE-lined with titanium poppet. Pure/pharma water → 316L + EPDM seals.
